This is the single thing that decides whether a Kashmir trip happens or not, and most people learn it too late.
The booking window
Indian Railways opens reservations 60 days before the departure date. For popular routes heading north in the holiday season, confirmed sleeper and AC berths are gone within hours of that window opening.
If you decide on a trip three weeks before travelling, you are not choosing between seats. You are choosing between waitlist and nothing.
What that means for a group
A family of four needs four confirmed berths together. A group of twenty needs twenty. Partial confirmation is not useful when children and elderly travellers are involved, and splitting a family across coaches on a long journey is not an option most people accept.
This is why our group departures have fixed dates. We book the block when the window opens, which is why the seat is confirmed when you book with us rather than waitlisted.
What to do
Work backwards from the date you want to travel and subtract two months. That is your real deadline, not the travel date itself.
For our 16 January and 13 March Kashmir departures, booking is open now and seats are limited. Call 7770007964 or 7770007965.
